Ola Wihlborg studerede på Beckmans School of design og han har modtaget en række af priser og bevillinger, inklussív the Red Dot Design Award og Ikeas Scholarship. Derudover, har Wihlborg deltaget i en række nationale og internationale udstillinger, såsom ”Stars” Galerrie Pascale, Design Bienalen St. Etiene, Swedish design in Tokio, 100% Design London og Möbelmässen Stockholm. Iblandt dem som har haft Wihlburg’s værker er Ikea, Asplund, Playsam og Collection Pascale.
