Born in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico to Lebanese-Spanish parents and influenced by living in multiple countries, Sami Hayek has integrated his multicultural perspective into his work.
Sami has been able to engage in the fields of furniture, interiors, architecture, landscape and industrial design. His clients range from companies such as Tetrahex (NASA), Reebok, National Geographic, HBO and The Body Factory, to actors Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, and Forbes 400 executives.
Sami is a multi-disciplinary designer who finds complexity within the simplest of means. His broad understanding of materials and the building process has enabled him to work in a wide range of media including carbon fiber, onyx, leather, plastics, steel and wood. Sami’s design details focus on the way disparate materials interact with each other, thus contributing to the individuality of the object or space.
Sami Hayek is based in Hollywood, California. He is currently designing two public parks for the Republic of Honduras as well as multiple architectural projects throughout the United States, including an entirely sustainable, eco-friendly house, as well as custom and production furniture. Sami has lectured at Penn State University, New York University, University of Southern California, SCI-Arc, and the International Design Symposium in Monterrey, Mexico.
